Vitor Pereira to replace Gary O'Neill as Wolverhampton manager VIDEO

The specialist was a champion in Portugal, Greece and China

Vitor Pereira will replace Gary O'Neill as manager at Wolverhampton, reveals the authoritative Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, BTA reported.

The Portuguese arrives from Saudi Al-Shabab and the compensation for his early release is over 800 thousand pounds.

"Wolves" and Pereira have agreed the personal terms of the coach today and he will sign a contract for a year and a half. The 56-year-old specialist will fly to England within hours and the club will confirm the information in the next 24 hours, Sky Sports specifies.

O'Neill was released on Sunday after a 1:2 defeat by Ipswich at "Molineux". The loss left Wolves 19th in the table, five points behind 17th-placed Leicester.

Pereira, who has won titles in three different leagues with Porto, Olympiacos and Shanghai Shenhua, has been in charge of Al-Shabab since February. He was linked with the Everton job in early 2022, but the "caramels" then settled on Frank Lampard.
