Cristiano Ronaldo has ended speculation about his future by saying he will continue playing for Saudi professional league club Al-Nassr.
"Nothing will change. Will I play for Al-Nassr? Yes," he said on Monday morning after leading Portugal to the Nations League title in Munich. The 40-year-old forward joined Al-Nassr in 2023 after falling out with manager Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. His current contract runs until June 30.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently suggested that Ronaldo could move to a team that has qualified for the upcoming Club World Cup. On Saturday, the Portuguese football icon confirmed the talks but said he would not be at the tournament in the United States.
On Sunday, Portugal beat Spain 5-3 on penalties to give Ronaldo and his team their third trophy, the others being Euro 2016 and the 2019 Nations League. “I have many titles, but there is nothing better than winning with the national team,” said the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
