Kylian Mbappe is a doubt for Real Madrid's first match at the Club World Cup

The Frenchman is the only typical central striker in the Whites' squad

Real Madrid's top scorer Kylian Mbappe is a doubt for the "royal club"'s first match at the Club World Cup in the United States, Reuters reports.

The Frenchman did not train on Tuesday because he is ill and may not be able to play in the match against Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal in Miami today. Yesterday the striker woke up with a high temperature and according to an anonymous source from the club, "there is every reason to worry that he will not play", reports BTA.

Mbappe is the only player in the Real squad who can be qualified as a typical central striker and this poses serious questions for the new head coach Xabi Alonso, for whom the match will be his debut on the bench of the Madrid club. The other striker Endrik is not in the Real squad, who has been nursing an injury since the end of the La Liga season.

Real Madrid and Al Hilal are in Group "H" of the tournament, which also includes the Mexican Pachuca and the Austrian Red Bull Salzburg.
