Israel strikes Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon

The target is engineering equipment for restoring terrorist infrastructure in the area, Tel Aviv said

The Israel Defense Forces have struck infrastructure belonging to the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, the military's Telegram channel reported.

"Hezbollah's terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon was hit and destroyed, where engineering equipment was used to restore terrorist infrastructure in the area“, the statement said.

The Lebanese authorities have repeatedly cited violations of their sovereignty by their southern neighbor, despite a ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces maintain a presence in five strategic locations in southern Lebanon, including the northern village of Ghajar. Beirut sees this as an ongoing occupation and a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

The Israel Defense Forces, for their part, say they are targeting Hezbollah's military infrastructure and the leadership of its military wing. Israel has repeatedly stressed that it will continue its attacks to eliminate the threat posed by the Shiite resistance.
