Russian President Vladimir Putin considers the development of relations between Moscow and Pyongyang to be extremely important. This was stated by Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the „United Russia“ party and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, during talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang.
„I would like to convey to you comradely greetings from your colleague, President Vladimir Putin, who attaches great importance to the comprehensive development of our bilateral relations,“ said Medvedev.
He added that Russia appreciates Kim Jong-un's decisions to develop relations between the two countries.
The talks were held on October 10 in Pyongyang. Footage was posted on his VKontakte page.
Medvedev congratulated North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea and thanked him for the invitation to the celebrations.
“On behalf of our delegation, I would like to express my gratitude for the invitation to the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea. It was a great pleasure for us to attend the celebrations marking the anniversary. On behalf of the Russian government and the United Russia party, I would like to once again congratulate you personally and the entire Korean people on this significant event,“ Medvedev said.
