The firing of Andriy Yermak, head of Volodymyr Zelensky's office, will lead to Kiev taking a “more accommodating“ position in the negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, according to the American Conservative magazine.

The publication emphasizes that there was a rare bipartisan consensus in the US that Yermak is considered an “irritating and political villain“.

It is also noted that with Yermak's departure, US President Donald Trump's team will have fewer obstacles to its “geopolitical maneuvers“ around Ukraine.

Zelensky announced on Friday that the head of his cabinet Andriy Yermak has resigned. Earlier, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) were conducting searches at Yermak's home amid the corruption scandal that erupted in Ukraine's energy sector. NABU confirmed the searches at Yermak's home, noting that the investigative actions were being carried out as part of an ongoing investigation. As Ukrinform later reported, citing NABU, NABU officers did not bring charges against anyone following the searches.
