Atanas Zafirov and delegation of BSP-United Left at the meeting of the world left

The Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Council of the BSP and the coalition “BSP - United Left” Atanas Zafirov, the MEP and international secretary of the BSP Tsvetelina Penkova and the secretary of the Executive Bureau of the BSP Filip Popov are part of the delegation of the left at the meeting of the Council of the Socialist International, which is taking place in Malta.

The event brings together representatives of over 80 left-wing parties from all over the world - from Europe and the USA to India, Nepal, Pakistan, Israel, Kazakhstan and other countries. Participants discussed common challenges and political solutions in the spirit of international solidarity.

Key speakers in the program are the Prime Minister of Spain and President of the Socialist International Pedro Sanchez, the Prime Minister of Malta and President of the Workers' Party Robert Abella, as well as the General Coordinator of the International Chantal Kambiva.

Among the main topics of the forum are social justice, peace and the deepening of international cooperation in the face of growing global crises.

The delegates emphasized the need for a stronger role of the left in overcoming social inequality, poverty and the consequences of military conflicts.

The importance of peace as a universal value that must be defended with joint efforts was also emphasized.

The participants also discussed the possibilities for more active interaction between the member parties of the Socialist International, with the aim of creating a global progressive alternative in defense of democracy and human rights.

Atanas Zafirov stated that “BSP - United Left“ has always upheld the principles of social justice and peace and will continue to defend policies in this direction - both nationally and internationally.

Within the framework of the forum, Atanas Zafirov held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, at which the challenges facing the region and the opportunities for closer cooperation were discussed.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Left is holding a series of talks with prime ministers, ministers and left-wing leaders from various countries.
