China has repeatedly stated its position on the Greenland issue and called on the United States to stop using the so-called "China threat" as a pretext to pursue its own interests. This was emphasized by a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, quoted by the "Xinhua" news agency.

Spokenist Guo Jiakun pointed out at a regular briefing that international law based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter is the foundation of the existing international order and must be respected.

He made his statement in response to a question about US President Donald Trump's recent words that from February 1, the United States will impose a 10% tariff on goods from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, Britain, the Netherlands and Finland for Greenland and will increase the tariff to 25% from the beginning of June unless an agreement is reached to purchase the territory from the United States.

According to him, Denmark is unable to prevent Russian or Chinese influence.
