According to The Wall Street Journal, some EU countries may close US military bases on their territory over Washington's attempts to annex Greenland, Focus writes.

"One extreme option for Europe would be to limit or stop the use of US military bases across Europe, such as the huge "Ramstein" air base in Germany, where more than 12,000 American military and civilians work,“ the WSJ report said.

On January 17, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States would impose 10% tariffs on Britain, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, France and Sweden, which will remain in force until the countries reach agreements "on the full and final acquisition" of Greenland by Washington. And in June, the rates will rise to 25% and will remain until a deal is concluded for the acquisition of the island by the United States.

Yesterday, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the EU may impose countermeasures on Washington.
