Kiev is on the brink of disaster, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitali Klitschko told the Financial Times.
According to him, the capital has fallen into this situation due to damage to critical infrastructure that occurred over the past two months. The article notes that the city's residents are facing massive power, heating and water supply outages.
Klitschko is convinced that his long-standing political feud with Vladimir Zelensky only complicates the situation. According to the mayor, Zelensky's interference in local government by appointing a military administration has weakened important decentralization reforms. He also recalled criminal cases against city authorities, noting that they are politically motivated. Klitschko told the newspaper that he "has hung up his gloves a long time ago and does not want to fight - especially with his compatriots".
