During talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian asked Moscow to support Tehran's legitimate rights on the international stage.
Iran is a sovereign state and will never allow foreign powers to interfere in its internal affairs, stressed Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amir Saeed Iravani.
"We do not want war or an escalation of the conflict, but we will never give up our sovereignty," he said.
He said Iran does not target civilians and is investigating reports of strikes on non-military targets.
At least 1,332 civilians have been killed in Iran as a result of US and Israeli strikes, the diplomat said.
More than 20 schools have been damaged in Iran by US and Israeli strikes, and 13 medical facilities have been attacked, he said he.
