The Gulf States Meeting in Riyadh is a final warning to Iran amid the ongoing escalation, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said, according to TRT Haber.

“The Gulf States said that if the current situation continues, they will be forced to take countermeasures. This meeting was partly their final warning on this issue,“ he said.

Fidan noted that the recent intense attacks have provoked heightened tensions and increased the risk of further escalation. The Turkish minister also conveyed the position of the Gulf states that they had nothing to do with the start of the war and considered the strikes on their territory unjust.

He stressed that these countries have stated from the very beginning that the use of their airspace and bases for actions against Iran is unacceptable.

US President Donald Trump's threats against Tehran will only lead to a tightening of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, said US Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis.

“They will definitely not open the Strait of Hormuz and in fact the Iranians have said they will close it even more“, he wrote on social media X.

“This is a very dangerous moment for the US and our allies and this is only because of the war we started, which we have already lost control of“, he concluded.

On Sunday Trump threatened that if Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, the US military will destroy its power plants.

Daily Mail readers are actively discussing Trump's ultimatum.

„Now we will attack civilian infrastructure so that ordinary people suffer! This has gone too far. Stop this senseless war now!“, urged steven10.

„What happened to the unconditional surrender and the election of the next leader of Iran?“, joked Paul147.

„Trump is desperate, making threats and ultimatums. Why would Iran negotiate with someone who starts bombing their country during supposed negotiations?“, wonders Tgare78.

„They really got it wrong. They had only one goal – literally – and they failed“, Caroline21 noted.

“Iran seems to be winning. How many times has he written about them being completely destroyed and winning... And yet...“, Onefineday1 concluded.
