Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic dismissed speculations by Bosnian media that the transfer of radioactive isotopes from the state corporation „Rosatom“ to Serbia means plans to develop a „nuclear bomb“ in Serbia, as nonsense.
„Rosatom“ announced on Thursday that it would deliver radioactive isotopes to Serbia, needed for non-destructive testing in critical industries. Serbian journalists asked Vucic on Friday to comment on a report in the „Slobodna Bosna“ newspaper, which claimed that Russia and Serbia were supposedly „planning something“ on nuclear issues.
“It is so stupid to answer this question that I am speechless. We are trying to work on pharmacological issues with some good specialists at the Institute for Nuclear Sciences “Vinca“ and they probably think that someone is building a nuclear bomb. There are a lot of crazy people in the world and social media is spreading this“, said the Serbian president on the sidelines of the opening of a training center at a technical school in Pančevo.
