The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed a law adopted by the parliament, providing for the possibility of notification of military service recruitment via text messages. The document was published on the legal internet portal, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.
The law on military conscription has been supplemented with a provision that the need to appear at the military commissariat or the call for military service during mobilization can also be communicated by text message. At the request of the military commissions, telecommunication operators must provide data on the subscriber numbers of servicemen and ensure notification by text message. Conscripts must notify the commissariat or other authority within a week of changing their mobile contact phone number.
Delivery of summons is entrusted not only to employees of the military registration and registration authorities, but also to employees of organizations designated by decisions of local authorities, employees of the State Security Committee of Belarus “and other persons , authorized by them”. Call letters can be delivered to military personnel both by place of residence and by place of work or location.
