Kadyrov rejected claims that the Russian anthem was banned in Chechnya

The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, denied the claims that that the Russian national anthem is banned in Chechnya. According to him, the new requirements for the tempo of musical compositions apply only to performers of national Chechen melodies, TASS reported.

„All creative collectives of state and municipal cultural institutions of the Chechen Republic, as well as individual performers of vocal and instrumental works, adhere to the traditionally established tempo values in Chechen musical culture. Note the words "national" and "Chechen". And note the absence of the word “ban“, Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel.

Commenting on the information about the banning of the Russian anthem in Chechnya, he called the media that spread false information the “yellow press”. and explained that the resolution is recommended for performers of Chechen melodies and does not ban the Russian anthem.

„All this is a recommendation for performers of Chechen melodies (not anthems, not military marches, not ballads, not chansons, not songs of other nationalities, etc.), which aims to preserve the musical expressiveness, originality and uniqueness“, added the head of the region.

Earlier, the Minister of Culture of Chechnya Musa Dadaev announced that recommendations are being introduced in the republic to limit the tempo of Chechen music. They mean that all musical, vocal and choreographic works must be at a tempo of 80 to 116 beats per minute. After that, a number of media indicated that due to the innovation, the Russian national anthem could be banned in the republic, as its tempo is slower.
