A Russian military correspondent was killed in Ukraine in a Ukrainian drone attack, TASS and Reuters reported, citing BTA, citing the media , for which he worked.

Semyon Eremin, who reported for the newspaper "Izvestia" since the beginning of the war nearly 26 months ago, died from the wounds he received in the attack that took place yesterday near the village of Priyutnoe, Zaporozhye region. The drone hit 42-year-old Eremin during its second pass over the area.

The military correspondent covered for the Russian daily the siege of Mariupol at the beginning of the war, as well as the heavy battles for Marinka and Ugledar. He was awarded the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" second degree.

The UN condemns the murders of journalists and believes that every such case requires a full investigation, Farhan Haq, deputy spokesman for the world organization's secretary general, Antonio Guterres, said in response to an inquiry by TASS.
