Today Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov announced that if NATO nuclear weapons are permanently stationed in Poland, they will become a military target for Russia, Reuters and BTA report.
"Actions in this direction will not guarantee greater security (for Poland or other countries that accept such weapons)", noted Ryabkov.
"Undoubtedly, the expansion of joint nuclear missions within NATO, regardless of which countries participate in this practice, has a purely destabilizing character. In practice, it is threatening," said the deputy minister, quoted by TASS.
According to him, all politicians who are currently discussing such a scheme in Poland should be aware that "changes in this direction will not increase the safety of Poland, and the relevant (nuclear) sites will definitely become a target.
