The Lena River flooded 13 villages in Yakutia VIDEO

Even those that had never been flooded were affected

The number of villages flooded by the Lena River in the Namsky region of Yakutia grew to thirteen, water entered even those villages where there have never been floods, said the first deputy chairman of the government of the republic, Dmitry Sadovnikov, on his Telegram channel, RIA Novosti reported.

„As the head of the ulus Yuriy Sleptsov has now informed us, 13 settlements were affected: Khomustakh 2, Namtsi, Krest Kytil, Butey-Yurdya, Maimaga, Frunze, the village of Kusil and Grafski Bryag were completely submerged,” writes Sadovnikov.

The First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that help will be provided to all the victims. According to him, dozens of rescuers and hundreds of equipment units are already working on the ground, and their number will be significantly increased.
“The main thing now is to unite and, without giving in to panic, hold these settlements that are partially damaged and get people out of the flood zones. All forces from the city of Yakutsk and the neighboring regions will be sent to Namsky ulus”, Sadovnikov added.

In the Namsky region of Yakutia there are only 24 settlements, the total population of which is more than 24 thousand people. The region is located 84 kilometers from the capital of the republic - the city of Yakutsk.
Earlier it was reported that the Lena River had flooded nine villages in the Namsky region of Yakutia; an increase in levels was recorded in three villages, although there were no traffic jams along the river. On Saturday, federal and regional rescuers, as well as an airmobile group of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia went to help the population.
