Houthis hit cargo ship "Verbena" in Gulf of Aden with missiles

Civilian crew member seriously injured

Yemen's Houthi rebels fired two anti-ship cruise missiles that hit cargo ship "Verbena" in the Gulf of Aden and caused a fire on board the vessel, the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) announced today, as quoted by Reuters and BTA.

One civilian member of the ship's crew was seriously injured, and there was material damage, the US military said in a statement.

The ship "Verbena" for bulk cargo, sailing under the flag of the Republic of Palau, is owned by Ukraine and operated by a Polish crew, SENTCOM adds.
