Moscow to Kiev: Accept peace now, the conditions will not change in your favor

The West and the authorities in Ukraine will bear political and moral responsibility for the continuation of the bloodshed if they refuse to accept Russia's peace offer, said Vasily Nebenzya

The West and the authorities in Kiev will bear political and moral responsibility for the continuation of the bloodshed if they refuse to accept Russia's peaceful proposal to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, said the permanent representative of Russia to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, as quoted by TASS.

He spoke at the meeting of the UN Security Council, which was convened at the request of Russia in light of the decision of Western countries to use weapons on the territory of Russia.

Nebenzia added that the realities on the ground will continue to change not in favor of the regime in Kyiv. “And the conditions for starting negotiations will then be different”, he emphasized.

The diplomat also pointed out that the Russian Federation confirms its readiness for dialogue with all countries, but “this should not be an imitation of the peace process in order to serve someone's selfish interests, as in Bürgenstock, but a serious, detailed conversation for the whole range of global security issues.“

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is coming up with a new peace proposal to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. It provides for the recognition of the status of Crimea, DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions as regions of Russia, strengthening of the non-aligned and non-nuclear status of Ukraine, its demilitarization and denazification, and the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions. At the same time, in order to start negotiations, Ukraine must withdraw its forces from the territory of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
