Ukraine is scared that the US may end the security guarantee agreement after the election

Zelensky is concerned about the "fine print" clause in it that either side can terminate the agreement

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is concerned about the “small print” in the agreement. that either party may terminate the contract. Ukraine, the newspaper notes, understands that for US President Joe Biden this was the last summit of the Group of Seven (G7) and the next administration will be able to withdraw from the agreement the very next day. The agreement may “not survive the results of the US election”.

As the publication writes, Kiev is also troubled by the fact that the agreement does not contain any mention of funding, only an obligation to work with the US Congress to provide assistance to Ukraine. The newspaper emphasizes that this would even mean “another fierce battle on Capitol Hill”.

On June 13, US President Joe Biden signed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Italy, a security agreement between Washington and Kyiv for a period of 10 years.
