US forces destroyed three unmanned surface ships of the supported by Iran Houthis in the Red Sea, reported the US Central Command (CENTCOM), quoted by Reuters and BTA.
Separately, the Houthis fired three anti-ship ballistic missiles into the Gulf of Aden, but caused no casualties or significant damage reported by the US, its partners or merchant ships, CENTCOM added.
The claims by the Yemeni Houthi rebels earlier today that they attacked the US aircraft carrier "Dwight Eisenhower" in the Red Sea, "do not correspond to the truth", two US representatives, who wished to remain anonymous, told Reuters, quoted by BTA.
"This is not true," said one of the American representatives, who wished to remain anonymous, quoted by Reuters.
The pro-Iranian Houthi movement began shelling vessels along the main waterway through the Bab el Mandeb Strait with missiles and drones in November, saying it was doing so in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
In more than seventy attacks so far, the Yemeni rebels have sunk two ships, hijacked one and caused the death of at least three ship crew members, according to Reuters.
