Switzerland is investigating over 50 cases of possible violations of sanctions against Russia, reports "Reuters", quoted by News.bg.

So far, violations have been found in 15 of them.

After Russian forces invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Switzerland adopted sanctions similar to those of other Western countries and introduced new measures earlier this month.

The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) has indicated that effective enforcement of sanctions is a government priority and 56 infringement procedures have been launched to date.

Of these, about half have been canceled, and sanctions have been imposed on 15. The others remain under investigation.

SECO did not specify which sectors were affected, nor which companies were under investigation.

Earlier this year, Switzerland said it had set up a specialized team to investigate and enforce the sanctions that Bern imposed after the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
