Donald Trump accepted the Republican Party's nomination for the US presidential election in November, France reported press, quoted by BTA.

"So tonight, with faith and dedication, I proudly accept your nomination for President of the United States," Trump said in a speech on the final day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He spoke five days after surviving an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

God was with me when I was attacked, Trump said.

He predicted an "uncanny victory" in the election, and promised to be president of "all of America, not half".

The "four best years in history" of the United States, Trump assured.

Against this backdrop, calls are mounting for Democratic President Joe Biden to drop out of the race after his poor performance in televised debates with the Republican late last month. However, a high-ranking representative of Biden's campaign staff denied the information that appeared that the president would give up the race for the White House.

Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have a telephone conversation scheduled for today, CNN reported, quoted by Reuters and BTA.

The American media did not give details.

This would be the first telephone conversation between the two since the end of Trump's presidential term in 2021, according to Reuters.

It will take place amid concerns by Ukraine and its allies that the former US president could end military aid to the Russian-attacked country if he returns to the White House.

The current US President Joe Biden is a staunch supporter of Kiev, which has received tens of billions of dollars in military aid from Washington since the start of the war.
