This in autumn, the representatives of the "Azov" brigade, known for the defense of Mariupol during the Russian offensive two years ago, will head to Brussels. Belgian media reports that Ukrainian fighters plan to meet with potential donors and volunteers to support their efforts on the front. They will also visit Berlin, Rotterdam and Warsaw to collect the necessary aid, BTA quoted.

During their visits, the “Azov“ will offer its hosts a cultural program with paid admission, hoping to raise funds and awareness for its cause. According to the information, about a thousand new volunteers join the brigade every month.

The Belgian media recall that “Azov” was founded in 2014 by a Ukrainian far-right politician and later integrated into the ranks of the Ukrainian armed forces. In 2016, the international human rights organizations “Amnesty International” and “Human Rights Watch” condemned the brigade's actions, accusing it of human rights violations against pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine.
