Uncle Scrooge: This European PM is watching a kinescope TV and a very old wallet

German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz made a surprising admission

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he still uses a kinescope TV, not a modern screen.
This was revealed by Welt TV.

Speaking at an event in Dresden, the prime minister noted that many Germans are putting off buying electric cars. According to Scholz, he understands this from his own example - he has a TV with a kinescope at home, which “still works perfectly“, news.bg specified.

He said that he once wanted to buy a replacement for the old TV, but realized that another one would “be out of date in a year”. “I somehow couldn't bring myself to do it,”, the chancellor continued, implying that this is exactly what is happening to Germans who are hesitating whether to switch to electric cars.

Scholz has revealed more than once that he prefers the old stuff. In 2022, he posted on Instagram with a wallet he bought 40 years ago.

„My black wallet has been with me for almost 40 years now - at every meeting, on every trip abroad and even on vacation,” added the chancellor. “I like this wallet more and more every year,”, emphasized Scholz, refusing to consider it “worn”.
