Five Palestinians, including a mother and daughter, were killed in an Israeli army strike against a refugee camp in Tulkarem, in the West Bank, AFP reported, citing senior Palestinian representatives, quoted by BTA.

Israeli forces entered the camp early in the morning, local sources reported. The town of Tulkarem is located on the western edge of the West Bank, which has been occupied by Israel since 1967. Among the victims were a woman and her daughter who volunteered for the local emergency services, said Faisal Salamah, a representative of the refugee camp.

In addition, the Israeli army killed "three youths", according to the same source.

There is currently no comment from the Israeli Armed Forces.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said tonight that its teams had treated a man wounded by a bullet. It then reported that three women were taken to hospital, one of whom was injured by shrapnel from a shell in the Tulkarem refugee camp.

According to the Palestinian agency WAFA, for its part, reported an Israeli drone attack, followed by the entry of 25 military vehicles and numerous bulldozers. They stormed the camp before starting to "destroy" it.

The war in the Gaza Strip has led to an increase in violence in the occupied West Bank. From the attack of "Hamas" on October 7 last year, Israeli settlers and soldiers killed at least 579 Palestinians, according to the Palestinian Authority. According to official Israeli data, at least 16 Israelis were killed in attacks and assassinations carried out by Palestinians.
