Son of the group's eliminated leader Hamas Ismail Haniya - Abdul Salam, promised that the Palestinians will "fight until freedom is achieved," reports Al Jazeera, quoted by Focus.
According to some media reports, Ismail Haniya was killed during an Israeli Defense Forces airstrike on a residence in Tehran. Abdul Salam Haniya says his father "strived for the unity of all Palestinian factions” and after surviving four assassination attempts, "Allah granted him the martyrdom he had always desired”.
"He was very passionate about achieving national unity and sought the unity of all Palestinian factions. We confirm that this killing will not stop the resistance, which will fight until freedom is achieved,”, Hania's son assured.
According to the Saudi publication *Al Hadath*, Haniya's private residence in Tehran was hit by a guided missile. His death raised fears of a wider escalation of the conflict in the region, especially after just hours earlier Israel announced that the top commander of "Hezbollah" Fouad Shukr during an airstrike against the Lebanese capital Beirut.
