The Russians do not have enough troops to stop the movement of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. This was stated by the Ukrainian reserve colonel of the ZSU and pilot-instructor Roman Svitan to Channel 24, UNIAN reported.

According to him, Ukrainian forces continue to advance through the territory of the Kursk region. It is likely that from Suja they will continue to move towards the Seim River, over which they have already destroyed two bridges.

The Ukrainian military expert noted that this is a fairly wide and fast river, which creates a certain mechanism for defense facilities that will be included in the overall fortification system.

Roman Svitan said the Russian army needs 45,000 troops to stop the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region. At the moment, the Russians have nowhere to take so much – except from the eastern front in Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the surprise Ukrainian offensive in Russia's Kursk region was aimed at creating a buffer zone there to prevent further Russian attacks across the border.

"Now our main task in defensive operations is to reduce Russia's military potential as much as possible and to take maximum counteroffensive actions. This includes the creation of a buffer zone on the territory of the aggressor - with our operation in the Kursk region," Zelensky said.
