Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has announced that since the start of Vladimir Putin's full-scale military aggression, over 600,000 Russian soldiers have been eliminated at the front.
In the last 24 hours, 1120 soldiers have been eliminated. It is assumed that Kiev refers to the number of killed and wounded occupiers. This data has not been verified by independent sources.
Over 8,500 Russian tanks have been destroyed, the Ukrainian army also said, as well as 17,104 artillery systems, nearly 16,500 armored vehicles, 116 rocket launchers, 367 aircraft, 328 helicopters and 28 ships.
The Ukrainian army continues to advance in Russia's Kursk region after launching a surprise invasion on August 6. The fiercest fighting continues in the Donbas, where the Russian army has been advancing slowly but methodically in recent months. At the moment, there is no prospect of possible negotiations between the two sides. Kiev indicates that it will not agree to Putin's conditions, which are expressed in the capitulation of the Ukrainian state.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the surprise Ukrainian offensive in Russia's Kursk region was aimed at creating a buffer zone there to prevent further Russian attacks across the border. "Now our main task in defensive operations is to reduce Russia's military potential as much as possible and to take maximum counteroffensive actions. This includes the creation of a buffer zone on the territory of the aggressor - with our operation in the Kursk region," Zelensky said.
