Protected by body armor glasses, Donald Trump attacked his rival Kamala Harris last night at his first outdoor campaign rally since the assassination attempt against him last month, AFP reported, quoted by BTA.

The Republican White House candidate, who held a rally in the key state of North Carolina, accused the Democratic vice president of being "the most radical leftist person" who has entered the presidential race, and announced that millions jobs will "disappear sharply" if she wins. "Your savings will be completely destroyed," the 78-year-old property tycoon told the crowd.

"All over the world, our adversaries knew that America could not be taken lightly when I was your commander-in-chief,", the former Republican president assured. "If Comrade Kamala wins in November, we will almost certainly have World War III," he added.

Since she replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee for the November election, their campaign has taken on new life. For Donald Trump, the rally in Asheboro was an opportunity to try to regain the advantage, noted AFP.

It was Donald Trump's first major outdoor campaign event since he was lightly wounded in mid-July by a 20-year-old gunman at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. One participant lost his life before the gunman was shot. After the tragedy, the Secret Service agency, which is responsible for protecting high-ranking political figures, recommended that he stop participating in public outdoor events. Since then, the Republican candidate has held about ten indoor rallies.

This week, the billionaire is campaigning in several key states, aiming to try to stop the momentum gained by Kamala Harris, who managed to draw crowds of more than 10,000 people. Harris was officially nominated Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, which ends today.
