Russia should " ;to respond adequately" of the restrictions being introduced in the West against the Russian media, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today, quoted by TASS and BTA.

This week, the US State Department filed money laundering charges against two employees of Russian state broadcaster RT in connection with an alleged scheme to hire a US company to create online content to influence the presidential election in USA.

"We criticize the West for following the path of destroying our media abroad, they prevent the dissemination of information, they prevent the work of our journalists," Peskov said, quoted by Reuters.

"And, of course, in this situation of fierce confrontation, we need reciprocity. Therefore, we must react adequately", the spokesman said and added: "In the current war conditions, censorship is justified, but in peace conditions there must be complete freedom of information".
