The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip reported today that at least 44 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the enclave last night, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.

„Civil Defense teams transported at least 44 bodies - most of them women and children - as well as dozens of wounded, following new bloodshed committed by the occupiers in several places in the Gaza Strip since 1:00 a.m. "after midnight (Bulgarian time)," Palestinian Authority spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told AFP.

The war in the Gaza Strip broke out on October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian group “Hamas“ carried out a surprise cross-border attack on Israel. According to official Israeli data, more than 1,200 people were killed in the attack and 251 people were taken hostage.

In response, the Israeli army launched a large-scale military operation in Gaza. According to the “Hamas“ Health Ministry, more than 53,000 Palestinians have died since the beginning of the conflict.
