Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will chair today a high-level open discussion at the UN Security Council on maritime security. The event is being held within the framework of the Greek presidency of the Council, ANA-MPA reported, BTA reports.
According to a statement from his press office, Mitsotakis will deliver an address in which he will highlight the growing threats to maritime security and the importance of protecting freedom of navigation.
During his visit to New York, the Greek Prime Minister will also meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
The discussion will also include Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, who is also in New York and will join the meeting between Mitsotakis and Guterres.
