Turkey in talks with Canada's Candu Energy for new nuclear power plants

Canada joins countries such as Russia, China and South Korea in their interest in Turkish nuclear projects

Turkey is in talks with the Canadian company Candu Energy about building a second and third nuclear power plant. This was announced by Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, quoted by "Reuters", reports News.bg.

According to him, in addition to Canada, Russia, South Korea and China are also interested in the new projects. However, Turkey continues to discuss opportunities with other countries and companies.

Currently, the Russian state corporation Rosatom is building the first nuclear power plant in the country - in Akkuyu, in the Mediterranean province of Mersin. The project is being implemented according to an agreement from 2010. worth $20 billion.

Turkey's plans include building a second nuclear power plant in the Black Sea region of Sinop and a third in the northwestern region of Thrace.
