Netanyahu: The entire Gaza Strip will remain under Israeli control after the end of the war

The Prime Minister called the offensive in the enclave an unprecedented operation in the history of wars

All areas of the Gaza Strip will be under the control of Israeli security forces at the end of the current military operation, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, quoted by the newspaper "Haaretz" and BTA.

Netanyahu gave his first press conference since December 2024 last night, calling the offensive in Gaza "an unprecedented operation in the history of wars" and publicly stated that there are still 20 hostages alive in the area. "So far, we have returned 197 hostages, of whom 148 are alive. he said, quoted by the newspaper "Jerusalem Post". He promised that Israel would return the remaining 20 hostages alive.

"If there is a possibility of a temporary ceasefire to return the hostages, we are ready for that," he said.

He also noted that the army's new operation, "Gideon's Chariots", would consist of three stages.

In the first stage, the Israel Defense Forces would allow the flow of basic food aid into Gaza to "prevent a humanitarian crisis." In the second stage, American companies would open aid delivery points. In the third stage, the military would facilitate the movement of Gazans south to organized points and prevent "Hamas" from infiltrating and taking advantage of the aid.

He added that he was ready to end the war between Israel and "Hamas" in exchange for specific demands: the return of the hostages, the removal of "Hamas" from power, complete demilitarization, and the implementation of US President Donald Trump's plan for Gaza.
