In Britain, senior Conservative representatives are plotting to overthrow Camille Badenoch as their leader in a sensational attempt to return Boris Johnson to the leadership of the Tories, the Sunday edition of the tabloid “Sun“ reported, quoted by BNR.
The Tories are “sharpening their knives” for Camille Badenoch, as under her leadership the Conservative Party has fallen to a humiliating fourth place in the polls, the newspaper writes. That is why a group of former Tory MPs are in talks to persuade the former prime minister to make a sensational comeback to the frontline of politics.
A senior Tory told The Sun that “the feeling is that Boris Johnson is the only man who can stand up to Nigel Farage, who is leading the polls, and win.”
It is claimed that sitting MPs are also involved in the plot. Many MPs fear that their party is on the verge of extinction and will be replaced by Reform UK as the new party of the right.
However, former minister Michael Gove defended Camille Badenoch’s performance, believing that she is one of the few brave politicians in Britain. His supporters pointed out that “anyone who thinks that changing the leader in six months will help should be realistic”. They pointed out that the Conservative Party suffered its worst defeat last year and renewing the party from scratch will take time.
There was no reaction from Boris Johnson, who, by the way, became the father of a fourth child with his wife Carrie Johnson yesterday. The former prime minister now has a total of nine children from three women.
