Ukrainian serviceman Georgy Karakulin, who was captured by Russian troops near Sumy, refused to be included in the large-scale exchange of prisoners of war and asked for Russian citizenship, it is clear from a video interview with him.
“I am Georgy Yurievich Karakulin, born on May 12, 1979, 425th separate assault regiment. I refuse the exchange, I want to stay in the Russian Federation until the end of hostilities with the possibility of obtaining Russian citizenship“, said Karakulin.
According to him, since 2014 he has been regularly coming to Russia to earn money. His aunt also lived in the Moscow region. Karakulin also said that he was taken to the front by force - employees of the territorial recruitment center caught the man on the street.
"There were no training sessions at the training grounds, I was immediately sent into battle," Karakulin also said.
