Romania's newly elected President Nicos Dan will take the oath at a solemn joint session of the two chambers of parliament, BNR reported.

The country's former presidents, members of the government, representatives of the diplomatic corps and heads of the main state institutions have been invited to it.

Supporters of nationalist leader Gheorghe Simion, who lost the presidential election, are expected to organize protests in front of parliament. He is calling for "peaceful demonstrations" on social media.

After the Constitutional Court rejected his appeal to annul the elections, Simion announced that he would not attend the protest because he fears arrest. According to him, on election night there was a plan to provoke conflicts with violent manifestations similar to the protests during the Euromaidan in Ukraine.

Some supporters of Simion and Calin Georgescu are calling for a "revolution", with slogans such as "Enough" and "No to the corrupt system" spreading on social networks.
