Germany: We will not let Peskov lecture us

Earlier today, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz promised to start joint production of long-range weapons with Ukraine

The new German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful categorically rejected Russia's accusations of inciting war with Ukraine over the joint project of Kiev and Berlin to produce long-range weapons, DPA reported, BTA reported.

"If there is anyone who should not talk about inciting war, it is (Kremlin spokesman Dmitry) Peskov, because he and his regime are not only doing it verbally, but are actually waging an illegal war that violates international law," Wadeful said today after a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington. "That is why we will not allow him to lecture us in any way", the German foreign minister added about the Kremlin spokesman.

Earlier today, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Berlin, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz promised to start joint production of long-range weapons with Ukraine.

The production will be carried out in Ukraine, which has been fighting against the Russian invasion for more than three years, DPA notes.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the Russian state agency TASS that Germany was allowing itself to be directly involved in this war by financing the production of Ukrainian missiles.

Peskov, for his part, accused the German government of inciting war and said that Berlin was sabotaging efforts to find a diplomatic solution.

Vadeful stressed that Germany was defending international law by standing on the side of Ukraine. The German government acts responsibly and helps a country that has been attacked defend itself, he added.

The cessation of Russia's military operations is a prerequisite for stopping the war in Ukraine. "This would be a real rejection of warmongering", the German foreign minister added.
