Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after his country's air strikes against Iran that Israel had struck “at the heart of Iran's nuclear enrichment program“ and attacked Iran's missile program.

"The attack will continue as long as necessary", the prime minister said, stressing that the operation was aimed at eliminating the Iranian threat to Israel's existence.

Netanyahu addressed the Iranians, quoted by The Times of Israel, and told them that "for almost fifty years this regime has robbed them of their chance for a better life".

"We do not hate you. You are not our enemy. We have a common enemy: the tyrannical regime that is trampling you... I have no doubt that the day of your liberation from this tyranny is closer than ever," he said in a video message. According to him, Israel is defending "the free world from the terrorism and barbarism that Iran encourages and exports".

"We struck at the heart of Iran's uranium enrichment and nuclear weapons program, we attacked Iran's main enrichment facility in Natanz," the politician said. According to him, the physicists who were hit were working on the Islamic Republic's nuclear bomb.
