Explosions echoed in the skies over Tel Aviv in Israel tonight after the Israeli military warned of a new missile attack on Israel from Iran, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Explosions were also heard tonight in the Iranian capital Tehran and in the city of Karaj, west of Tehran, Reuters reported, citing Iranian news sites.
Earlier, the Iranian army warned residents of Tel Aviv and Haifa to evacuate. And the Israeli army warned residents of certain areas in Tehran to evacuate as well.
The Israel Defense Forces said they were carrying out a series of strikes on areas of Tehran, DPA added.
Shortly before, Israeli forces had detected missiles coming from Iran towards Israel. The Israeli Air Force was activated to eliminate the threat. Sirens sounded and people were asked to follow instructions on what to do in such a case.
The exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran has been going on for the sixth day, Reuters recalls.
