Iran is considering the possibility of striking a nuclear research center in the Israeli city of Dimona if the conflict between the two countries escalates.
This was reported by the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera, citing a senior Iranian official.
“The nuclear reactor in Dimona could become our legitimate target if the conflict escalates“, said an unnamed source on the channel.
About 60 Israeli Air Force fighter jets carried out a series of strikes in central Iran tonight, Israeli Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin announced at a press conference, The Times of Israel reports, quoted by FOCUS.
He stated that in Israeli fighter jets have also destroyed three more Iranian F-14s on the ground during the strikes. Last week, Israeli strikes in Tehran destroyed two F-14s.
The US-made F-14 Tomcats were delivered to Iran before the 1979 Islamic Revolution and are believed to be the last ones still in service.
