IAEA: Attacked Iranian nuclear facilities seriously damaged

No one was inside and saw the damage, but this is our conclusion, said the head of the agency Rafael Grossi

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) believes that Iran's nuclear facilities have been seriously damaged by the American strikes. This was stated by the organization's Director General Rafael Grossi on the Fox News channel.

„We see a very significant degree of damage at three sites. Natanz was the first to be hit, very, very serious damage was caused to one of the very important centrifuge halls where uranium enrichment was carried out. Even its underground part was damaged first indirectly and then directly“, he noted.

Speaking about the facility in Isfahan, Grossi stressed: „This is a complex that includes many buildings where different work is carried out. But the damage there was also very significant.“ According to the IAEA director general, the Iranian facility at Fordow “was better fortified“. “We saw serious damage caused by deep-penetrating munitions. Even though no one was inside and saw them“, he added. “The conclusion, of course, is that the damage must have been very, very significant“, the IAEA director general concluded, speaking of all three sites.

As CNN previously reported, citing its own sources, the US intelligence community believes that the US military strikes against Iran have not destroyed the main components of Tehran's nuclear program. The White House has said that these assessments are incorrect.
