Karakachanov on the RSM report: The situation is the result of strong Macedonian lobbying and weak Bulgarian activity

Our MEPs - 17 people, this time, like no other time, were together in favor of the Bulgarian interest. The fault is not with the MEPs. The fault is with the Bulgarian government and the institutions of Bulgaria. The big problem is the weak Bulgarian activity. He stated this in the studio of “Osche ot dnia” the chairman of VMRO Krasimir Karakachanov in a comment on the draft EU report on the progress of the RSM and the neglect of the Bulgarian position.
According to him, the situation has come to this as a result of strong Macedonian lobbying and weak Bulgarian diplomacy:
“That there is strong Macedonian lobbying, we have known it for many years and there is no need for any politician to study this. He just needs to ask our security services. We have them, don't we?! There is a lot of material there, I guarantee you, because I worked with these security services as Deputy Prime Minister for Security and I know what is there, including specific data, specific amounts and so on. But the bigger problem is the weak Bulgarian activity. In recent days, many people, since it is about the European Parliament, have been blaming the MEPs. Our MEPs this time, like no other time, were 17 people together in favor of the Bulgarian interest. The fault is not with the MEPs. The fault lies with the Bulgarian government and the institutions of Bulgaria.”
Skopje lobbied, the appropriate rapporteur was selected - “the person in question Weiss, the green Austrian politician”, and 2 months ago it was clear that something was wrong, Karakachanov noted:
“That the rapporteur himself is subjective. He is anti-Bulgarian, because for years he has spoken in favor of only Skopje, without considering Bulgaria's arguments, without considering the facts - either historical or current. The Foreign Minister of Macedonia has visited Brussels 10 times and has spoken only and exclusively on this issue, about this report. Do you know how many times the Bulgarian Foreign Minister has gone? I'm talking about the last few months, for a year now - 0 times. A diplomat from our representation in Strasbourg has gone once.”
