The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that an airstrike in southern Lebanon killed Ali Abd al-Hassan Haidar, a commander in the elite "Radwan" unit of "Hezbollah", as well as another fighter from the same group, BTA reports.
"Ali Haidar was responsible for organizing numerous terrorist plots against Israeli citizens and the army, including the so-called 'Galilee Conquest Plan'. In recent months, he has been actively involved in attempts to restore 'Hezbollah''s terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon", the army's official statement said.
The IDF stressed that Haidar's actions constitute a "flagrant violation" of existing agreements between Israel and Lebanon.
According to Israeli forces, Haidar was eliminated in the Deir Kifa area, and the second Hezbollah fighter was killed about two hours later in a separate strike in the Beit Lef area, also in southern Lebanon.
