Israel has carried out an airstrike on the entrance to the Syrian Defense Ministry in Damascus, Reuters reported. According to the Israeli military, the strike was aimed at the Syrian regime's compound to protect the Druze minority in the south of the country, News.bg reports.

Sources for "Reuters" specify that at least two drone strikes hit the building, with employees seeking shelter in the basement. State TV "Elehbariya" reported two civilians injured as a result of the attack.

The Israeli military said it had attacked the "entrance gate of the military headquarters complex" in the capital and that they continue to monitor developments, including the actions against the Druze in southern Syria.

Earlier in the day, clashes broke out again in the southern Syrian city of Sweida between government forces and local Druze fighters, just hours after a ceasefire was announced. Israel also struck targets in the area, but details about the nature of the strikes and possible new civilian casualties were not yet known.
