Mass protests in the US against immigration policy and funding cuts VIDEO

Demonstrations are being organized in over 1,600 places in the country

Protests are being held in the US against President Donald Trump's immigration policy and funding cuts in healthcare and other social sectors, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.

The protests are being organized in over 1,600 places in the country.

“We are entering one of the most terrifying moments in the history of our country“, said the co-chair of the organization “Citizens of Society“ Lisa Gilbert, one of the organizers of the protests.

“We are all struggling with the growing authoritarianism and lawlessness of our administration, while the rights, freedoms and expectations of our democracy itself are being questioned,“ she added.

Large protests are planned in Atlanta and St. Louis, as well as in Oakland, California, and Annapolis, Maryland.

Similar protests were held across the country on June 14, when organizers said millions of people joined them, from New York to San Francisco, to protest Trump's policies. At that time, protesters in many places called Trump a “dictator” and criticized him for celebrating his birthday with a military parade.
