Israel Defense Forces: We are starting a "tactical pause" in hostilities in three areas of the Gaza Strip

The army said it would cease its activities in Muassi, Deir al-Balah and Gaza City every day from 10:00 to 20:00 local time, starting today until further notice. It said it would also determine safe routes to help humanitarian organizations deliver food and other aid to people throughout Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces announced today that they would begin a “tactical pause“ in hostilities in three areas of the Gaza Strip as part of measures to address the worsening humanitarian situation, BTA reports.

The army said it would cease its activities in Muassi, Deir al-Balah and Gaza City every day from 10:00 to 20:00 local time, starting today until further notice. She said she would also identify safe routes to help aid groups deliver food and other aid to people across Gaza.

The announcement of the pause comes after months of warnings from experts about the risk of famine caused by Israel's restrictions on humanitarian aid. Criticism from abroad, including from close allies, has intensified after several hundred Palestinians were killed in recent weeks trying to reach food distribution points.

Yesterday, the army also announced it would resume airlifts of aid to war-torn Gaza as part of efforts to curb hunger.
