Another person has died after an stun gun was used against him by the Italian Carabinieri, the Italian news agency ANSA reports, quoted by BTA.
The victim is a 47-year-old man of Albanian origin, and the location of the incident is Sant'Olchese above Genoa.
According to investigators, it is possible that the man suffered a cardiac arrest as a result of the use of a stun gun against him.
Prosecutor Paola Calleri will open a murder case in the coming hours and schedule an autopsy.
The investigation is being conducted by the Carabinieri unit of the Ministry of Justice.
A 57-year-old man from Sardinia died in the ambulance. after a stun gun was used on him outside the entrance to a music festival in Olbia on Saturday night.
The man, named as Gianpaolo Demartis, attacked several people outside the Red Valley festival venue and then resisted police attempts to calm him down. He was then stun gunned down and went into cardiac arrest.
Demartis had a record of drug distribution.
Sardinia's ombudsman for detainees, Irene Testa, said: “Another death caused by a stun gun. It is not the first such case. A 30-year-old man was killed a few months ago.“
“Electroshocks are used to control uncontrollable behavior, and have serious physical and psychological effects. Sometimes they even cause death. "Can the use of legalized instruments of torture still be permitted?" the ombudsman asked.
